Tasks and Functions
- Ensuring the development and implementation of a comprehensive tourism development concept aimed at fundamentally enhancing the country's tourism potential, granting tourism the status of a strategic sector of the economy, and conducting a unified state policy in the tourism sector;
- Conducting marketing research in external and domestic tourism service markets, implementing an active advertising and informational policy in the tourism sector aimed at widespread promotion of historical and cultural heritage, preserving and developing the tourism image of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and promoting national tourism products and brands in international tourism markets;
- Coordination of the development and monitoring of the implementation of national and regional programs for the comprehensive development of domestic, inbound, and outbound tourism, the accelerated development of a wide range of tourism types, attracting foreign investments, as well as loans and grants from international financial institutions and other organizations for the development of tourism infrastructure that meets international standards;
- Coordination of tourism activities, ensuring the creation of new tourist routes in regions, conducting their certification, and forming unified national registries for tourist routes, guides (tourist guides), and tourist sites;
- Coordination of the development of quality and safety standards for providing tourism services, aimed at ensuring the safety and health of tourists when organizing tourism services, primarily in accommodation facilities, dining establishments, during travel within the country, and when visiting tourist sites. This also includes licensing and certification of tourism services, as well as conducting inspection control to ensure that licensed and certified tourism services comply with established requirements and standards;
- Development of proposals for optimizing state and market regulation in the tourism sector and fostering competition in the tourism services market, removing all obstacles and barriers hindering the development of tourism, actively supporting the increase of entrepreneurial activity in tourism, and the active implementation of information and communication technologies in this sector;
- Organizing regular retraining and professional development of employees in tourism businesses at a high-quality level, as well as providing support for the development of industry-specific tourism science.
