The prestigious sporting event, held along the central streets of the capital, featured a 5-kilometer mass run and a 21.0975-kilometer half marathon. Around 24,500 people took part in the races, including more than 2,000 international participants from 50 countries.

The international field also included representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations, further enhancing the event’s international profile. In addition, around 600 participants took part in special inclusive races.

The half marathon showcased not only Tashkent’s modern sports infrastructure but also the capital’s potential as an attractive destination for international sports tourism. International participants had the opportunity to experience the city’s central streets, modern urban environment, and historical and cultural attractions at the same time.

Hosting international sporting events in Tashkent creates new opportunities to attract international tourists, encourage longer stays in Uzbekistan, and combine sports, cultural, and urban tourism. In this regard, the half marathon was not only a sporting competition but also a major international event contributing to the promotion of Uzbekistan’s tourism image.

For two days, an EXPO area operated as part of the event, where more than 15 companies showcased their products and services. The event also received extensive media coverage, with its social media reach exceeding 13 million people. More than 50 bloggers and influencers were involved in covering the competition.

The broad international participation in the Tashkent International Half Marathon, its high level of organization, and the route through the capital’s central streets demonstrated Uzbekistan’s significant potential for the further development of sports tourism.
