On August 25, 2026, a ceremony marking the designation of Kichiksoy as a “Tourist Village” was held as part of the celebrations dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event was attended by representatives of regional and district administrations, mahalla activists, local residents, tourism industry representatives and members of the media.
Currently, 20 family guest houses are operating in Kichiksoy, while 15 additional types of tourism services have been introduced. As a result, around 150 unemployed local residents, including women, have been provided with permanent employment.
One of the key features of tourism development in Kichiksoy is the creation of a comprehensive tourism experience that allows visitors not only to stay overnight and sample local cuisine, but also to directly experience the lifestyle of local residents and discover their national values, crafts and traditions.
Granting Kichiksoy the status of a “Tourist Village” will contribute to the development of tourism in Nurata District, the creation of new tourism routes, the expansion of income opportunities for local residents and the enhancement of the region’s tourism appeal.
An info tour was also organized for media representatives attending the ceremony, providing them with an opportunity to learn more about the tourism potential of Kichiksoy village.
