The forum brought together Sandjar Tadjiyev, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Natalie Kvachantiradze, Chairwoman of the Georgian Tourism Association, as well as more than 80 representatives of the tourism industries of the two countries.
The event served as a practical follow-up to the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Georgia on July 2–3 this year and was aimed at developing direct cooperation between tourism companies from the two countries.
During the forum, the sides identified key areas for further expanding cooperation. These included the development of joint tourism packages and new itineraries, expanding direct air connectivity, and promoting cultural and historical, wellness, medical and health, pilgrimage, gastronomic, ecotourism, adventure, and MICE tourism. Particular attention was paid to organizing reciprocal familiarization and media tours, jointly promoting the tourism opportunities of both countries through digital platforms, and participating together in international tourism exhibitions.
An important part of the forum was devoted to establishing direct business contacts between representatives of the tourism industries of the two countries. Following the presentations, B2B meetings were held between Uzbek and Georgian tour operators, during which companies directly discussed opportunities to expand cooperation, develop joint tourism products, and establish new business partnerships.
As part of their familiarization visit to Uzbekistan, representatives of Georgia’s tourism industry also gained an in-depth understanding of the country’s tourism products, cultural heritage sites, and modern tourism infrastructure. This will help facilitate the development of tourism itineraries tailored to the specific opportunities offered by individual destinations.
It is worth noting that from January to July 2026, the number of tourists arriving in Uzbekistan from Georgia increased by 25.9%. Overall, during the first seven months of this year, Uzbekistan welcomed approximately 7.75 million foreign tourists, a 22.6% increase compared with the same period last year. Exports of tourism services amounted to approximately $3.9 billion.
