The programme is designed to introduce Norwegian travellers to Uzbekistan’s historic cities and cultural heritage, covering Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara.
As part of the tour, travellers will discover the harmonious combination of ancient and modern architecture, historic mosques and madrasas, architectural monuments dating back to the era of the Great Silk Road, as well as historical sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Particular attention is given to Uzbekistan’s national culture, traditions, and culinary heritage. In particular, travellers will have the opportunity to visit a local family and take part in preparing traditional Uzbek dishes. The programme also includes a visit to Chorsu Bazaar in Tashkent, where guests can gain a closer insight into the everyday life of local residents, national customs, traditions, and the country’s culture of hospitality.
Another distinctive feature of the tour is the participation of renowned international journalist Morten Strand as the tour leader and lecturer, making the programme even more informative and engaging for travellers.
The development of a dedicated travel programme focused on Uzbekistan reflects the country’s growing appeal in the Scandinavian tourism market. In particular, the significant increase in the number of Norwegian tourists visiting Uzbekistan in recent years demonstrates growing interest in the country’s tourism potential.
According to statistical data, the number of tourists arriving in Uzbekistan from Norway has increased 3.6-fold over the past three years.
The launch of specialized travel programmes by international tour operators contributes to the wider promotion of Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural heritage in international markets, the development of new tourist flows, and the further strengthening of tourism cooperation with the Scandinavian countries.
