The event was attended by S. Bobokalonov, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Natalie Kvachantiradze, Chairwoman of the Georgian Tourism Association, 10 Georgian tour operators visiting Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of tourism companies and tour operators from Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, participants were presented with information about Uzbekistan’s rich tourism potential, existing tourism products, and new destinations. Particular attention was paid to promoting historical and cultural itineraries covering Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Tashkent in the Georgian market, as well as Great Silk Road routes, gastronomic, ecotourism, pilgrimage tourism, and other promising tourism segments.
The tour operators from both countries exchanged experience and views on jointly developing tourism packages, creating new itineraries, increasing tourist flows between Uzbekistan and Georgia, and actively promoting tourism products in the markets of both countries.
It is worth noting that in July this year, during a meeting between A. Akkulov, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Natalie Kvachantiradze, Chairwoman of the Georgian Tourism Association, together with representatives of leading Georgian tourism companies, agreements were reached on organizing reciprocal familiarization trips for tour operators from both countries, as well as holding seminars and workshops.
The B2B meeting served as a practical continuation of these agreements and provided an important platform for establishing new partnerships between private-sector representatives from Uzbekistan and Georgia.
On August 17 at 9:00 a.m., the first Uzbek-Georgian Business Forum on Tourism will be held at the Hilton Samarkand Regency Hotel in Samarkand, focusing on further developing cooperation in the tourism sector.
