During the discussions, the participants reviewed organisational and technical matters related to welcoming international delegates, transportation and logistics, sightseeing programmes, and the development of a comprehensive cultural itinerary. The events are expected to bring together more than 2,000 student participants from 40 countries, along with over 1,000 accompanying guests, including parents, teachers, representatives of partner countries, organisers, and distinguished guests.
Particular attention was given to the tourism programme, which will provide international visitors with an opportunity to experience Uzbekistan's rich historical and cultural heritage alongside its modern tourism offerings. One of the highlights will be a trip to Samarkand aboard the high-speed Afrosiyob train, featuring visits to some of the country's most iconic landmarks, including Registan Square, the Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, the Shah-i-Zinda Ensemble, the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, and the renowned Siab Bazaar.
The proposed programme also includes a full day of interactive cultural activities, during which guests will be invited to participate in masterclasses on preparing traditional Uzbek plov and non (Uzbek bread), discover the country's rich traditions of pottery, embroidery, and carpet weaving, and enjoy performances of traditional music and dance. In addition, participants will be offered a nature excursion designed to showcase the diversity of Uzbekistan's tourism attractions.
The participants emphasised that hosting the STEAM AHEAD Global Finals and YALA will not only represent a major international educational event but also provide an important opportunity to promote Uzbekistan's tourism brand, strengthen cultural exchange, and deepen international cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination in ensuring the successful organisation of both events and providing a high-quality experience for all participants and guests.
