The primary objective of the tour is to introduce key players in Oman’s tourism market to Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage, unique natural attractions, modern tourism infrastructure, and the favorable conditions created for international travelers.
As part of the program, the delegation first visited the Zaamin District, where participants explored the region’s picturesque landscapes, mountain scenery, opportunities for ecotourism and outdoor recreation, as well as ongoing projects aimed at developing winter tourism. Representatives from Oman expressed particular interest in Zaamin’s pristine mountain environment, unique natural beauty, and strong potential as a year-round tourism destination.
The delegation then traveled to Samarkand, where they visited the city's world-renowned historical and architectural landmarks, UNESCO-listed cultural heritage sites, modern hotel infrastructure, transport and logistics network, and newly developed tourism attractions. Samarkand’s rich history, renowned hospitality, and well-developed tourism infrastructure left a lasting impression on the Omani guests.
As part of the familiarization tour, B2B meetings were also held in the Samarkand and Jizzakh regions. During direct negotiations between leading Omani tour operators and local tourism companies, participants discussed the development of new tourism products, the creation of joint travel programs, and opportunities to expand pilgrimage, cultural, ecotourism, and family tourism. These meetings provided an important platform for establishing new business partnerships between tourism industry representatives from the two countries.
