Undertaken in electric and hybrid vehicles, the expedition aims not only to rediscover the historical legacy of the Great Silk Road, but also to showcase Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential to the international community.
Covering a total distance of 15,000 kilometers over 43 days, the expedition connects Europe and Asia, beginning in Rome and concluding in Hong Kong. Uzbekistan’s selection as one of the key and most distinctive stages of the route once again highlights the country’s historic role in the civilization of the Great Silk Road and its emergence as a modern tourism destination.
During their journey across Uzbekistan, participants will visit Nukus, Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand, and Tashkent, where they will explore the country’s cultural heritage, architectural landmarks, national traditions, and modern infrastructure. The itinerary also includes unique destinations such as the Aral Sea region, Muynak, and the Kyzylkum Desert.
The Uzbekistan leg of the expedition is expected to further strengthen the country’s position on the global tourism map. The expedition brings together experts, researchers, and media representatives from various countries, who will produce articles and multimedia content about Uzbekistan for international audiences. The initiative is expected to increase global interest in the country, open new tourism markets, and contribute to the growth of inbound tourism.
The project also demonstrates that Uzbekistan offers outstanding opportunities not only for cultural and heritage tourism, but also for the development of adventure, ecotourism, and automotive tourism. In the long term, the expedition is expected to contribute to the creation of new tourism products, attract more international visitors, and support the continued growth of the country’s tourism industry.
