The WTA is an international non-governmental and non-profit organization in the field of tourism that promotes broad cooperation among governments, the private sector, and tourism industry stakeholders.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects with the WTA aimed at widely promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential on the international stage, including further strengthening the positions of such historic cities as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva within global tourism routes.
In addition, opportunities are being explored to attract foreign investment and launch new tourism projects in Uzbekistan through the WTA platform. Initiatives were also proposed for the development of ecotourism, pilgrimage tourism, and gastronomic tourism based on international cooperation.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to actively involve more than 260 national tourism organizations, airlines, hotel chains, and major tourism companies that are members of the WTA in projects being implemented in Uzbekistan, as well as to jointly organize events dedicated to promoting the Silk Road.
It was emphasized that strengthening Uzbekistan’s ties with global tourism organizations will further enhance the country’s international image. In turn, this will contribute not only to increasing tourist flows, but also to creating new jobs and supporting the development of regional economies.
