Representatives of the tourism sector of Khorezm explored new tourist sites in Karakalpakstan

During an open dialogue with entrepreneurs in the Khorezm region, conducted by the Republican Working Group led by the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, A. Akkulov, with the participation of tourism sector representatives, a proposal was put forward to organize an info tour to the attractions and tourist routes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan for regional business entities.
As part of the tour, participants visited the Chilpik qal’asi archaeological complex in the Amudarya district. Guests received detailed information about the historical development of the site and its archaeological significance, with specialists answering their questions.
The next stop was the Savitsky State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in Nukus. Known as the “Louvre in the Desert,” the museum houses more than 90,000 exhibits. Participants explored works of the 20th-century Russian avant-garde, a collection of Karakalpak folk applied arts, and historical artifacts.
During the trip, guests also visited the Mizdaxkon historical and archaeological complex, where they learned about ancient monuments dating from the 4th to the 14th centuries, including Gyaur-Kala, the Mausoleum of Mazlumkhan-Sulu, Shamun-Nabi, Rejep-Khalifa, and Zhomart-Kassob.
In addition, participants visited the State Museum of History and Culture of Karakalpakstan, where archaeological finds, traditional women’s headdresses known as “saukele,” and handmade carpet-weaving products were presented.
In the city of Nukus, guests explored the modern tourism infrastructure at the newly opened Ramada hotel by Wyndham.
In the Khojeyli district, an exhibition of Karakalpak national dishes and various fish delicacies was organized at the “Karavan” restaurant, accompanied by a concert of national music.
On the second day, participants visited the Chimbay district, where original jewelry pieces were showcased at the workshop of Adil Tazhimuratov.
In the Takhtakupyr district, guests visited the “Qorateran” ecotourism complex and the “Tax-tepa” ethno-village, where they learned about the region’s ethno- and eco-tourism opportunities and sampled local fish dishes.
