The first issue on the agenda of the meeting, held in a critical spirit, started with the analysis of the theatre sector.
During the reporting period, 8,188 performances were held in theatres, attracting 2.8 million spectators.
However, shortcomings have been observed in the activities of some theatres, and there have been delays in achieving the established targets.
In particular, it was noted that the planned number of performances was not sufficiently fulfilled, some theatres failed to meet their audience engagement targets, deficiencies were found in ticket management, and certain performances scheduled for production were not fully staged. Although, according to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, tickets are to be sold through the Unified Electronic Ticket Operations System (BOYAET), some theatres have continued to operate without using the system or using it only partially. It was also reported that, within the framework of the “Do'stlar Klubi” initiative, local authorities (hokimliks) were instructed to allocate sponsorship funds for theatres, and that internal audit inspections revealed violations of the requirements of the Law on Public Procurement in a number of theatre institutions. Accordingly, responsible officials were assigned tasks to promptly eliminate the identified shortcomings.
In addition, it was emphasized that theatre directors, together with their accountants, legal advisers, and deputy directors responsible for finance, bear equal responsibility.
