A cooperation meeting took place between the First Deputy Minister of Culture, Avazkhon Tadjikhanov, and the Chairman of the Japan-Uzbekistan Economic, Cultural, and Sports Cooperation Society, Tetsuro Yamasaka.
During the meeting, the broad cooperation in the field of culture between the two countries was discussed.
In particular, it was emphasized that according to the President's decree No. 406 of December 25, 2023, "Measures to Further Improve the Level of Cultural Services to the Population," the newly established title of "Uzbek Culture Ambassador" was awarded for the first time to the famous Japanese singer and instrumentalist Komazaki Mashun.
According to this decree, a system for granting the title of "Uzbek Culture Ambassador" has been introduced to encourage and support foreign citizens, including compatriots, who actively promote and popularize Uzbek national culture abroad.
"On behalf of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, I would like to sincerely congratulate you, Mr. Yamasaka, and the representatives of the 'Balcom Group' company, on your visit to Uzbekistan. This meeting presents an important opportunity for further development of cultural cooperation between our two countries and the implementation of joint projects. Uzbekistan and Japan have long-standing friendly relations. Our country highly values the advanced technologies, innovations, and initiatives of our Japanese colleagues. There are also broad opportunities for cooperation in the cultural field. Uzbekistan possesses a rich cultural heritage, and Japan is a model to the world with its unique traditions and modern cultural achievements," said Avazkhon Tadjikhanov.
At the end of the meeting, discussions were held on organizing bilateral exchanges, hosting the Koguri Dance Festival in Uzbekistan, and jointly organizing cultural events promoting Uzbek culture in several cities in Japan.
