On December 20, a conference titled "Chingiz Aytmatov: Literary Legacy, Philosophical and Political Views in the Harmony of Eras and Cultures" was held at the Central Asia International Institute in Tashkent. The event was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Culture, Avazkhon Tadjikhanov.
The event also included official representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan and the Ch. Aytmatov International Issyk-Kul Forum. Representatives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's People's Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan, diplomats from various countries, public figures, representatives from scientific research institutions of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, the Uzbekistan Kyrgyzstan National Cultural Center, and students from both countries participated in the forum.
Javlon Vahobov, Director of the Central Asia International Institute, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing that Uzbekistan has always held Chingiz Aytmatov and his works in high regard and has appreciated his philosophical and ideological legacy.
The conference discussed the life and creative path of the great writer and philosopher, Chingiz Aytmatov, his political activities, and his role as a respected figure among Turkic peoples. Participants included J. Vahobov, Director of the Human Rights Center and academician A. Saidov, leaders of diplomatic missions, and descendants of Ch. Aytmatov.
During the event, Avazkhon Tadjikhanov spoke, noting that in recent years, under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan, the 90th and 95th anniversaries of Chingiz Aytmatov were celebrated, and stage performances and films based on his works were being produced in theaters and film studios in Uzbekistan.
Speakers unanimously agreed that such events contribute to strengthening friendly relations between the brotherly nations, enhancing and consolidating cooperation in literature, and especially fostering strong ties of good neighborliness and friendship between the Uzbek and Kyrgyz peoples.
In general, the creative evening emphasized the significance of Chingiz Aytmatov's legacy in cultural dialogue and strengthening regional cooperation. The great writer and diplomat's literary works and social-political views remain relevant today, contributing to strengthening solidarity between peoples and building a new Central Asia together.
