In the capital, at the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theatre of Uzbekistan, a literary and educational evening was held dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Karakalpak poet and thinker Ajiniyoz Qosiboy ogli. Additionally, a grand premiere of the artistic and journalistic film "Ajiniyoz" was held at the National Cinema Arts Palace of Uzbekistan.
First, at the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theatre, a ceremonial literary and artistic evening was held in honor of the 200th anniversary of Ajiniyoz Qosiboy ogli's birth.
This literary and artistic evening was attended by Yusufjon Usmonov, Deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, prominent state and public figures, writers and poets, representatives of culture and art, the public, and media representatives.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the widespread celebration of the 200th anniversary of Ajiniyoz Qosiboy ogli's birth on July 16, 2024.
At the event dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Ajiniyoz, songs and poems based on his works were performed. Uzbek and Karakalpak poets highlighted the importance and significance of Ajiniyoz in the literature of Turkic-speaking peoples.
In addition, samples of Karakalpak national art were showcased during the festive evening.
Later, at the National Cinema Arts Palace of Uzbekistan, the grand premiere of the artistic and journalistic film "Ajiniyoz," filmed by the "Qaraqalpaqfilm" studio under the order of the Cinematography Agency of the Ministry of Culture, took place.
The premiere was attended by Orinbayev Amanbay Tleubayevich, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Alisher Khodjaev, Deputy Director of the Cinematography Agency, Matyoqub Matchonov, Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of Uzbekistan, Jamila Shermuhammedova, Youth Mentor of Uzbekistan, Minhojiddin Mirzo, First Deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, the creators of the film, students, and media representatives.
The filmmakers shared insights about the filming process and the film's objectives.
More than 4,000 viewers attended the premiere.
Additionally, the viewers explored the newly updated exhibits of the Museum of Cinema Arts of Uzbekistan, which left a vivid impression of both the film and the museum.
