PRESS RELEASE on the participation of the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Uzbekistan in the "Türkiye Kültür Yolu Festival" International Arts Festival during its tour in Turkey

According to the Resolution PQ-64 of the President of Uzbekistan "On measures for further development of opera and ballet art," in order to promote national opera and ballet on a global scale, study advanced foreign experiences, and expand cultural relations, it has been planned to organize foreign tour performances of the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theatre in various countries. Currently (from October 3–5), the famous ballet "The Rite of Spring" by composer, pianist, and conductor Igor Stravinsky, and a Gala concert featuring leading opera and ballet soloists of the Grand Theatre, including Uzbek composers and internationally renowned composers, is scheduled to be held in Istanbul and Bursa, Turkey.
Based on the PQ-64 decree of the President of Uzbekistan, the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theatre has been organizing foreign tours since 2022, following the planned schedule for 2022–2026. In particular, in 2022, foreign tours took place in cities such as Daegu, Busan, Kochang, Pyeongtaek in South Korea, as well as in Baku, Azerbaijan, and in 2023, tours were held in Beijing, China, Russia, Astana (Kazakhstan), Minsk (Belarus), and Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) on March 13-14, 2024.
In 2024, foreign tours are planned to Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Italy, with the second foreign tour currently taking place in Turkey. About 130 members of the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theatre are participating in this tour.
In connection with this, on October 3, at 7:00 PM (local time), at the Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Cultural Center in Istanbul, and on October 5, at 7:00 PM (local time) at the Cultural Center in Bursa, a performance of Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" ballet and a major Gala concert with the theatre's leading opera and ballet soloists will be held.
Additionally, from April 13 to November 10 of this year, the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theatre will participate as a guest group in the "Türkiye Kültür Yolu Festivali" (Turkey Cultural Route Festival), an international arts festival taking place across 16 Turkish cities (Adana, Şanlıurfa, Bursa, Samsun, Trabzon, Furgon, Nevşehir, Erzurum, Çanakkale, Gaziantep, Ankara, Konya, Istanbul, Diyarbakır, Izmir, Antalya). This prestigious art festival brings together representatives of culture and art from all over the world, and participation in this festival aims to showcase Uzbek art and culture to a global audience.
According to Ramiz Usmonov, the director of the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theatre and People's Artist of Uzbekistan, "It is a great honor for Uzbekistan and Uzbek art that our theatre, along with famous theatres like the Mariinsky Theatre under the direction of Russian People's Artist Valery Gergiev, Deuche Oper Berlin, and Royal Opera House in the UK, is participating in this prestigious festival. Furthermore, during this visit, agreements were made for participation in the world-famous International Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival, which will take place in Turkey in 2025."
As of today, this festival, which started on April 13, has taken place in 12 regions of Turkey, and now, in Istanbul (from September 28 to October 6), the festival is being held.
During the foreign tour, a major Gala concert is scheduled with the participation of the theatre’s leading soloists. Under the direction of Chief Conductor V. Chernukho-Volich, the following pieces will be performed:

For reference, there are 41 theatres in Uzbekistan, and the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theatre is the only one representing national opera and ballet, delighting the people with the finest classical works of opera and ballet.
