Yesterday, a model cultural center was inaugurated in the Qorako‘l district of Bukhara.
The event was attended by Sherzod Tilavov, Head of the Bukhara Regional Culture Department, Khursid Tohirov, Hokim of Qorako‘l District, Yo‘ldosh Genjayev, Honored Artist of Uzbekistan, as well as sector leaders and public representatives.
At the expanded meeting of the Republican Council on Spirituality and Enlightenment held on December 22, 2023, under the leadership of the President, tasks were assigned to establish cultural centers in each district, equipped with cinema halls, libraries, and club rooms, to organize cultural events and engage youth in the arts.
As part of these initiatives, large-scale work continues in Bukhara. The Durman Cultural Center No. 21, which had been operating in the Qorako‘l neighborhood citizens' assembly, was renovated using local budget funds and officially opened.
Speakers at the event emphasized that this cultural venue would serve to promote culture and arts among local residents, particularly youth, and nurture talented young individuals. After the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, attendees explored the modern facilities created for cultural workers and music enthusiasts. The center now features a cinema hall, library, and clubs for rubab, doira, pop singing, and dance, with over 100 boys and girls engaged in various activities.
