On May 9 of this year at 18:00, the grand premiere of the feature film "THE UZBEK LION" will be held at the Uzbekistan National Palace of Cinema Arts.
The film was produced by order of the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in collaboration between the "UZBEKFILM" film concern and the "CINEMA OF CENTRAL ASIA" studio.
Set against the backdrop of the Second World War, the film tells the story of an ordinary village young man's fate along a path of great trials. At the center of the work is Mamadali Topivoldiyev — a man who displays extraordinary courage at the front, taking part in dangerous operations behind enemy lines. Though severely wounded, his willpower and friendship keep him alive. Among the partisans, he becomes a legend under the nickname "Kazbek."
The film deeply explores not only battlefield heroism but also human bonds. Scenes such as a sincere friendship with Vanya Rilkov and finding a mother's warmth even in a foreign land will not leave the audience indifferent.
After the war, Mamadali comes to truly understand the value of peace and fights to rebuild his village. As a collective farm chairman, he sets as his goal not only economic recovery, but also spiritual uplift — building schools and clubs, and giving people's hearts hope. Yet even on this path, he is forced to battle doubt, envy, and injustice.
"THE UZBEK LION" is not merely a historical drama — it is a symbol of courage and humanity, an expression of remembrance and respect.
