As you know, the “Days of Chinese Culture” are currently being held in Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the cultural days, today, December 3, a cooperation meeting was held between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov and the Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, Lu Yingchuan.
The meeting was also attended by delegations from both countries and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China to Uzbekistan, Yu Xiyun.
“Friendship and strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and China have historical roots. Today, this cooperation has acquired new significance and is reaching high achievements in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. Traditionally, holding the Days of Chinese Culture in Tashkent and Samarkand demonstrates that our cultural cooperation is developing at a high level,” said Minister Ozodbek Nazarbekov.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that in recent years, a number of cultural exchange events have been held between China and Uzbekistan, and Chinese creative teams have actively participated in every international cultural event taking place in our country.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a number of proposals were discussed to further develop cultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and China. Among them were creating a cultural calendar for 2026, organizing a concert by the Uzbekistan National Orchestra at a cultural heritage site, and further developing cooperation between the theaters of the two countries.
The proposals were seen as a step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation.
For reference, “Days of Chinese Culture” events are being held in two regions of Uzbekistan — the capital, Tashkent, and the historic city of Samarkand — from November 30 to December 4.
Yesterday, the official opening ceremony of the “Days of Chinese Culture” was held at the Turkiston Art Palace in the capital, and the cultural days are currently continuing in Samarkand.
