During the meeting, cooperation areas were discussed, including agreements on professional training, joint film production, and creative exchange programs.
In addition, prospects for reaching an agreement on cooperation between Warner Bros. Discovery (USA) and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the joint development of cinematography were reviewed.
The discussion also included the possibility of opening a Warner Bros. Center in Tashkent, noting that such a center could play a significant role in the development of the Central Asian film industry, talent growth, training programs, and support for regional film production.
It was also announced that, as part of cooperation, the possibility of establishing a Warner Bros. film studio or joint production facility in one of Uzbekistan’s historic cities — Tashkent, Bukhara, Samarkand, or Khiva — would be explored in order to strengthen ties between Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage and the global film industry.
During the discussion, the Uzbek side expressed readiness to consider any proposals presented by Warner Bros. Discovery.
Today's meeting was attended by Warner Bros. Discovery Vice President Michael Volbrecht, HBO Senior Vice President of Production Planning and Incentives Jay Roe, Warner Bros. Pictures Executive Vice President of Physical Production and Administration Mark Scroggins, Warner Bros. Discovery Director of Public Relations Pooja Nawapey, and the heads of six additional companies.
“We deeply appreciate the time, openness, and constructive dialogue from the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives responsible for the Film Agency, Children’s Content Center, international cooperation, and film production.
Uzbekistan is undergoing profound changes. The President of Uzbekistan has visited the U.S. twice, elevating the level of strategic relations and expanding cooperation with leading American companies.
These efforts reflect Uzbekistan’s dedication to modernization, the development of creative industries, and strengthening international partnerships.
We are here with the intention of long-term cooperation.
In launching Warner Bros.’ broader activities, we aim to focus on establishing a film studio and production pavilion, an entertainment park, and an educational center where WBD experts can train and mentor a new generation of creative talent in Central Asia.
This vision is mutually beneficial,” said Avazxon Tadjikhanov.
The visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan to the United States continues.
