The "Young Maqom Performers" Republican Competition is Being Held Within the Framework of the "Golden Autumn" Forum

Within the framework of the forum, the "Young Maqom Performers" republican competition, organized by the Uzbek National Maqom Art Center, was launched on November 1-3 of this year at the Yunus Rajabi Institute of National Music.
This competition features talented youth (33 participants in total) aged 16 to 22, who are either active or studying in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, various regions, and the city of Tashkent.
Competition participants are required to perform pieces from the second group of sho'bas (branches) of the Shashmaqom, such as Qashqarcha, Soqinoma, or Ufor; as well as pieces from the Khorezm maqams and the Fergana-Tashkent maqam traditions.
The competition jury, composed of specialists in maqom performance art and esteemed masters, has been formed to conduct the competition.
Participants will be evaluated based on criteria including performance skill, sense of rhythm, correct pronunciation of the text, stage presence, and appropriate selection of the performance repertoire.
The main goals of the competition within the forum are: to widely promote Uzbek national maqom art among youth, to foster deep study of national maqom works, to support talented youth studying and creating in the field of culture and art, to unite them in creative processes, and to enhance their knowledge and skills;
to discover Uzbek national maqom performers, and at the same time, to widely promote maqom art samples and bring them to world stages;
to create a broad platform and provide encouragement for creative youth to showcase their talents.
