The success of ongoing reforms has resulted in a well-established practical system. The veterinary sector has begun to emerge not only as a guarantor of epizootic and epidemic stability but also as an economically attractive field providing reliable services to the population.
Innovative approaches to controlling zoonotic diseases, experience in mitigating risks from diseases brought by wild bird migration, and the creation of an effective system ensuring the safe delivery of livestock products to consumers are noteworthy. These achievements have positioned our country as a leader in the veterinary sector within the CIS.
Efforts to develop veterinary education, integrate it with practice, apply international standards in the national system, and attract concessional funds and promising grant projects from international financial institutions have been highly appreciated by global experts.
At the 92nd session of the World Organisation for Animal Health Assembly held in Paris, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s attention to veterinary development and the established practical system were specially noted. The head of the organization, Ms. Emmanuelle Suberan, recommended Uzbekistan’s veterinary system and experience as a promising model for other countries.
During the conference, Bahrom Norqobilov, Chairman of the Veterinary and Livestock Development Committee, was awarded the “For Services” medal.
It is important to note that this award was presented for the first time to a country in the CIS region.
This recognition reflects the growing international authority and potential of our veterinary sector.
