In accordance with the instruction of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a nationwide study is being carried out to assess the condition of sanitary and hygiene facilities established at tourism sites — including cultural heritage sites, pilgrimage destinations, tourism zones, sanatoriums and recreation areas, sports and wellness institutions, public leisure areas, and parks of culture and recreation — as well as in the territories of airports, railway stations, bus terminals, and fuel stations. As part of this process, the Head of Department of the Tourism Committee, M. Khayitova, together with members of the regional working group organized by the Jizzakh regional khokimiyat (administration) and representatives of relevant organizations, conducted inspections of tourism sites across the cities and districts of the region, based on a designated list of locations.

During the six-day study, necessary recommendations and proposals were made regarding the construction and renovation of modern sanitary and hygiene facilities at tourist sites where they are lacking, the creation of amenities for persons with disabilities in accordance with urban planning standards, as well as the establishment of baby changing areas and mother-and-child rooms.
This initiative aims to enhance the country’s tourism potential, create comfortable conditions for both residents and visitors, and further strengthen sanitary culture within educational and social institutions.
Similar inspections are planned to be carried out in other regions of the republic.
