Over the course of several days, tour participants visited key landmarks across the region, including historical monuments, architectural complexes, craft workshops, and picturesque natural sites. Guests had the opportunity to experience the local traditions, lifestyle, and everyday life of the region’s residents firsthand.
The tour program included visits to cities such as Fergana, Kokand, Margilan, and Rishtan — each with its own unique historical and cultural significance. In Kokand, participants explored the iconic Khan’s Palace — a symbol of the city — and learned about the activities of Kokand University. In Margilan, they observed the traditional production of the famous Uzbek fabrics *atlas* and *ikat*. In Rishtan, guests were impressed by the craftsmanship of local potters and the renowned Rishtan ceramics, which are well known throughout the region.
In addition, the press tour included meetings with local artisans, cultural figures, tourism entrepreneurs, and regional government officials. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and receive detailed information about the region’s tourism opportunities and development prospects.
Special attention was given to infrastructure development, support for family-run guesthouses, eco-tourism, and the preservation of intangible cultural heritage. Media representatives and bloggers were shown successful tourism projects implemented as part of Uzbekistan’s national tourism development strategy.
According to participants, the Fergana region left a lasting impression with its authentic culture, the hospitality of its people, the variety of tourist routes, and its strong potential for both domestic and international tourism development.
Following the trip, a series of media publications, blog posts, and social media content is expected, which will help raise the region’s profile among a wide audience of travelers.
