“Ethno-Gastro” festival held in Kungrad

More than 50 chefs from the Republic of Karakalpakstan and neighboring regions took part in the event, showcasing Uzbekistan’s gastronomic tourism potential by preparing popular traditional fish and Karakalpak dishes such as “Jukhori Gurtik”, “Balykdan Palov”, “Balyk Karma”, “Balyk Kuurdak”, “Balyk Shorpa”, and “Bugday Gurtik”.
The winners were selected by a jury composed of members of the Association of cooks of Uzbekistan and the Association of Chefs of Karakalpakstan. Festival prizewinners were awarded “Travel Uzbekistan” tourism vouchers, certificates, and valuable gifts.
For festival guests, various activities were organized including cooking master classes, exhibitions of national traditions and folk crafts, artisan fairs, performances by folklore ensembles, live music, and traditional dances.
The festival concluded with a festive closing ceremony featuring a concert by well-known artists.
