The press tour began with a ten-kilometer eco-trail designed for walking and cycling along both banks of the Aksu River, located in the “Miraki” tourist center of the Shahrisabz district. Media representatives were introduced to the amenities created for visitors, including a children’s playground, amusement park, recreation zone for the elderly, family guest houses, and mobile retail points.
The participants also visited the “Miraki” cable car, which recently became operational in the same tourist center. The cable car system, manufactured by the renowned Austrian company Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH, features 7 durable towers and 20 eight-seat "Carvatech" cabins, with a total length of 2,084 meters. This modern transport system is capable of carrying up to 660 passengers per hour. The lower station houses the drive mechanism, elevator, souvenir shop, café, medical point, mother-and-child room, ATM, parking area, and an electric vehicle charging station. The upper station is equipped with a dining facility, children’s playground, observation areas, and designated selfie spots.
The media delegation, which included journalists and bloggers, then visited the urban-type settlement of Gelon, located on the western slope of the Pamir-Alay mountain range at an altitude of 2,600 meters above sea level. Here, they were introduced to the modern tourist infrastructure and the opportunities for ecotourism and ethnographic tourism.
The village of Gelon, with its rich historical heritage and natural beauty, left a strong impression on the guests, offering them a comprehensive view of the tourism achievements and initiatives aimed at improving local employment.
The press tour participants studied the region’s tourist attractions and committed to sharing this information with the wider public through their media platforms.
