The official ceremony dedicated to this recognition was attended by representatives of the Tourism Committee and the Sariasiya district administration, local residents, media representatives, and bloggers.
During the event, it was noted that Nilu is an ancient village located in an oasis — a unique place that has preserved traditional customs of the past. The area is especially lively during the summer season, attracting tourists and vacationers. Its cool natural environment, majestic mountains, and crystal-clear icy streams provide a refreshing atmosphere, while the newly developed infrastructure and guest facilities offer comfort for visitors from near and far.
The village now features 21 family-run guest houses serving both domestic and international tourists. More than 15 types of services have been established, including the installation of ATMs from commercial banks and the paving of streets with asphalt. Tourists visiting Nilu can now enjoy horseback riding amid scenic landscapes and experience the health benefits of camel milk.
Guests were introduced to a series of presentations showcasing activities and attractions available in the tourism village. A press tour was organized to Nilu village, the Sangardak waterfall in Sangardak Mahalla, and the village of Khonjiza. In addition, a special event titled “Osh Sayli”, dedicated to plov — one of Uzbekistan’s iconic traditional dishes — was held. Guests had the opportunity to sample various types of plov, participate in its preparation, and engage with local chefs.
