Uzbekistan strengthens tourism cooperation with Bahrain

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector. Special attention was given to increasing tourist exchanges, simplifying visa procedures, establishing direct flights between Manama and Tashkent, and organizing joint events aimed at promoting the tourism brands of both countries.
A particular focus was placed on the development of pilgrimage tourism. The Bahraini side expressed strong interest in Uzbekistan’s holy sites and historical landmarks associated with prominent Islamic scholars and figures. In this context, the promotion of the “Tabarruk Ziyorat” platform among Bahraini travelers and tour operators was discussed.
Minister Al‑Sayrafi expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan, noting its rich cultural heritage and the growing interest of Bahraini tourists in Silk Road routes. In turn, Umid Shadiev emphasized Uzbekistan’s readiness to deepen the partnership and share experiences in the areas of sustainable and innovative tourism.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to work jointly on a "roadmap" aimed at developing the tourism sector of both countries, establishing direct air connections, and increasing the flow of tourists.
