The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee Sardor Niyazov, representatives of the Ministry of Sports, regional hokimiyats, and resort complexes in Uzbekistan, investors, as well as an Austrian business delegation of experts and equipment manufacturers for mountain resorts.
Sardor Niyazov welcomed the participants of the "round table" and emphasized that the introduction of innovative technologies in the tourism sector is an important step for the industry's development, and Uzbekistan is actively working on this. "Special attention is being paid to improving the infrastructure of year-round resorts, which opens new prospects for the development of winter sports and tourism," he noted.
During the event, it was reported that a number of infrastructure projects in the tourism sector have already been jointly implemented. In particular, several cable cars (Chinorkent, Amirsoy) have been launched in the tourist-recreational zone of "Charvak" with the assistance of "Doppelmayr." Joint projects with Austrian companies are also being implemented in Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, and Tashkent regions.
"Today, representatives of 8 Austrian companies working in the field of infrastructure and service development are in Uzbekistan to discuss the implementation of projects in the country with government officials and private investors. We are having a very interesting and productive discussion between Uzbek and Austrian partners, which shows great potential for further cooperation. Considering the experience of Austrian companies and the opportunities for tourism development in Uzbekistan, I am confident that we can implement successful projects and significantly improve the infrastructure of mountain resorts," said Rudolf Lukavsky, Commercial Counsellor of the Austrian Embassy.
As part of the "round table," B2B meetings were held, where participants focused on the development of winter tourism in Uzbekistan, particularly in the context of introducing modern technologies and improving the quality of tourist services. Special attention was paid to opportunities for attracting international investments and creating partnerships with leading global companies in the field of winter sports and tourism. Experts emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange, given Austria's rich experience in organizing winter tourism. Representatives of the Austrian delegation shared their vision for the further development of mountain resorts in the country.
