The parties reviewed progress in implementing the Action Plan on Tourism signed in June this year, attracting Saudi investors to tourism infrastructure projects, developing master plans for tourism zones and promoting public-private partnerships.
Particular attention was paid to promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in the Saudi Arabian market, launching digital PR campaigns, developing tourism packages tailored to travellers’ preferences, strengthening cooperation between tourism companies and simplifying visa procedures. The proposal to establish a permanent Uzbekistan pavilion at Boulevard World in Riyadh was also discussed. The pavilion would showcase the country’s cultural heritage and tourism opportunities and offer visitors the option to book and purchase tourism packages.
In preparation for the 31st Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road”, scheduled to take place in Tashkent on 25–27 November 2026, the parties discussed organising familiarisation trips for Saudi tourism companies and bloggers, arranging B2B meetings and developing five- to seven-day travel itineraries. They also explored opportunities to expand direct air services and seasonal charter flights, as well as attract Saudi MICE companies to organise international conferences and business events in Uzbekistan.
The parties further emphasised the importance of exchanging calendars of major tourism, cultural and entertainment events in both countries and inviting Saudi investors to the International Tourism Investment Forum, which will be held for the first time as part of the Tashkent International Tourism Fair.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue negotiations on promising projects, implement the planned initiatives and strengthen practical cooperation aimed at expanding tourism exchanges between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia.
