The project is designed to turn Uzbekistan’s rich gastronomic potential into a tourism product, introduce international and domestic tourists to national dishes and local culinary traditions, and expand the range of services in this area.
Currently, the project covers Bukhara, Samarkand and Khorezm regions, as well as the city of Tashkent. To date, 42 voluntary participants have registered for the project.
One of the key aspects of the project is creating new sources of income for local communities. In particular, homemakers will be able to offer tourists traditional homemade dishes, family recipes and authentic hospitality experiences while generating additional income. Guesthouse owners, artisans, family businesses and local food producers will be able to combine their existing activities with gastronomic tourism and offer new services and products.
The project places particular emphasis on creating authentic gastronomic experiences, allowing tourists not only to taste national dishes but also to take part in their preparation, interact with local families and gain a deeper understanding of the customs and traditions of Uzbek hospitality.
Active project participants also spoke at the event, sharing their experience in creating and presenting gastronomic experiences for tourists.
The “Gastro Marketplace” project will contribute not only to preserving and promoting Uzbekistan’s gastronomic heritage as a modern tourism product, but also to expanding the participation of local communities and entrepreneurs in the tourism sector.
