In accordance with Resolution No. PP-313 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 3 September 2026, measures have been outlined to establish the Tudakul Tourism and Recreation Zone covering 6,500 hectares in Kyziltepa District. Tudakul is one of the country’s major water bodies and has significant potential for developing ecotourism, hunting tourism, adventure tourism, recreation, health and wellness tourism, and gastronomic tourism.
The total area of the Tudakul Reservoir is 21,700 hectares. Along a 14-kilometre stretch of the shoreline, there is potential for developing beaches and modern tourism infrastructure. Under the new project, the area is planned to accommodate a range of tourism activities, including ecotourism, hunting tourism, adventure tourism, recreation, health and wellness tourism, and gastronomic tourism.
During the site visit, the working group inspected various facilities established by around 30 business entities operating in the area.
A meeting was held with the participation of relevant stakeholders to develop a unified master plan for the area, establish modern tourism services and create the necessary engineering and utility infrastructure. Following the meeting, priority tasks were identified.
The key objective going forward is not to develop the existing facilities separately, but to comprehensively transform Tudakul into an integrated tourism and recreation destination under a unified management system.
