Russian tour operators report significant increase in demand for tours to Uzbekistan

In autumn, Russian travellers are primarily booking classic sightseeing tours to Uzbekistan’s cities and short city breaks. According to tour operators, sales of tours have increased by up to 65% compared with the same period last year.
At Intourist, demand for sightseeing tours to Uzbekistan for September–November has grown by 15% year on year. Among the most popular options is the six-day “To the Heart of Timur’s Empire” tour, priced from RUB 47,000 per person, excluding airfare. Among the new offerings is the three-day “Tashkent Weekend” city tour, starting from RUB 21,900.
Alean reported a 65% increase in bookings for tours to Uzbekistan compared with last autumn. According to the tour operator, the growth was driven by an expanded range of travel products and a larger hotel base. Tourists are choosing hotels in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, including properties operated by international hotel chains.
According to the RST, the cost of sightseeing tours to Uzbekistan has increased by 5–10% over the past year. The main demand is for 7–8-day programmes covering Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, as well as gastronomic and cultural routes.
The expansion of direct air connectivity between Russia and Uzbekistan has also contributed to the growth in tourist flows. In particular, Centrum Air has launched flights connecting Tashkent with Yekaterinburg, Ufa and Perm.
