The event was organised with the support of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Centrum Air as part of a familiarisation trip (FAM Trip) marking the launch of direct air service between Tashkent and Karachi.
The B2B meeting brought together 10 representatives of Karachi’s tourism industry who arrived in Uzbekistan as part of the FAM Trip, taking place from 10 to 12 September 2026. During the negotiations, Pakistani participants met with representatives of Uzbek tour operators and discussed specific areas for further cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to presenting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and exploring opportunities to promote the destination in the Pakistani market. Pakistani tourism businesses were introduced to existing tourism products and promising travel options, including historical and cultural routes covering Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, journeys along the Great Silk Road, as well as opportunities for developing gastronomic, ecotourism and pilgrimage tourism.
The participants also discussed the joint development and promotion of tourism packages, the creation of new routes, increasing the length of tourists’ stays and expanding the geographical scope of travel. An important focus of the negotiations was direct cooperation between tour operators of the two countries and the development of new offerings tailored to the interests and preferences of Pakistani travellers.
The launch of direct air service between Karachi and Tashkent is regarded as an important factor in intensifying tourism exchanges. The new connection creates additional opportunities for developing combined tour packages along the Karachi–Tashkent–Samarkand route, with the subsequent inclusion of other major tourist destinations in Uzbekistan.
As part of the FAM Trip, representatives of Karachi’s tourism industry also visited Tashkent and Samarkand, where they explored the cities’ historical and cultural heritage, tourism attractions and modern infrastructure. The experience gained during the trip enabled the participants to assess Uzbekistan’s tourism potential firsthand and identify prospects for promoting the destination in the Pakistani market.
The B2B negotiations between tourism industry representatives of the two countries provide a foundation for establishing new business contacts, jointly developing tourism products and increasing mutual tourist flows.
Strengthening direct cooperation between tour operators in Uzbekistan and Pakistan will contribute to further promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in Karachi and other regions of Pakistan, while enhancing practical cooperation between the two countries in the tourism sector.
