Samarkand region’s tourism potential discussed with international consultants

The meeting focused on the development of spatial and territorial planning documents and master plans for Samarkand Region, as well as the Bulungur, Kattakurgan, Ishtikhan and Payarik districts (cities), within the framework of the “Integrated Development of Medium-Sized Cities” project being implemented under the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Particular attention was paid to further enhancing the tourism potential of these areas.
The parties exchanged views on more effectively distributing tourist flows among different destinations, the tourism sites visited by travelers in Samarkand, and the development of tourism facilities in the region’s districts.
The international team of consultants was also presented with the design code for Samarkand Region, developed by the Tourism Infrastructure Development Project Office.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for developing wine tourism in Samarkand Region, creating new tourism products, and increasing the region’s investment attractiveness.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation aimed at further developing tourism in Samarkand Region and implementing new projects.
