UZS 1 Billion for tourism start-up ideas: start-up subsidy procedure approved

According to the Regulation, subsidies are provided from the funds of the non-budgetary Tourism Support Fund under the Tourism Committee. Fifty percent of the costs of developing and implementing a start-up will be reimbursed, but the subsidy may not exceed UZS 1 billion. Up to 10 best projects will receive support each year. At the same time, each applicant may receive the subsidy only once per calendar year.
As of the date of application, the applicant must have no outstanding tax or fee liabilities and must not be undergoing bankruptcy or liquidation proceedings.
Applications are submitted to the Tourism Committee through a Public Services Center or the Unified Interactive Public Services Portal (my.gov.uz). The application must be accompanied by a business plan for implementing the start-up and a project presentation. Applications are accepted free of charge from the 20th to the 25th day of the final month of each quarter.
Within five working days of receiving the application, the applicant will be notified of the date of an interview. The interview is conducted via videoconference or in person, with the applicant presenting their start-up to the commission.
Within 10 working days, the commission reviews the project for compliance with the established requirements, obtains a positive opinion from the Fund Council, and issues an assessment on the feasibility of providing the subsidy.
Projects are evaluated based on the following criteria:
the start-up’s focus on developing a specific type of tourism service;
the project’s relevance to tourists’ current needs, as well as the availability of a previously non-existent or significantly improved solution.
Based on the commission’s conclusion, the Tourism Committee makes a decision within two working days. If the decision is positive, the funds are transferred to the applicant’s bank account opened with a commercial bank within seven working days.
