Extended Opening Hours for Markets, Shopping Complexes and Museums

In areas with high levels of tourist activity, the opening hours of a number of facilities have been extended. In particular, the Siyob Bazaar remains open until midnight, while the Makon Mall and Family Park shopping complexes operate until 11:00 p.m.

Opportunities for evening visits to historical and cultural heritage sites have also been expanded. The Afrosiab Museum, Amir Temur Mausoleum, Bibi-Khanim Complex, and Mirzo Ulugbek Observatory Museum Complex are now open to visitors until 11:00 p.m., while the Registan Ensemble remains open until midnight. In addition, a musical show is held daily at 9:00 p.m. in Registan Square.

24/7 Service Streets

To promote night tourism and expand gastronomic services, dedicated service streets for tourists have been established in the city. One of them, Orzu Makhmudov Street, operates around the clock. There are currently 20 food and beverage establishments offering visitors national and international cuisine. Their nighttime operation provides additional convenience for tourists arriving in the city during the evening and late-night hours.

Another initiative is the Pub Street tourist street, which stretches for 400 meters. It is home to 12 food and beverage establishments capable of serving around 1,500 guests simultaneously. The street features landscaped green areas and recreation spaces, as well as a parking lot for 100 vehicles. One-way traffic has been introduced to ensure pedestrian safety.

The Pub Street area is also connected with Samarkand’s historical and industrial heritage. One of the first breweries in Central Asia was built here in 1885. Today, this tradition is continued by the Uzbek-Czech joint venture Pulsar Group Brewery.

These measures are helping to make more effective use of Samarkand’s potential for evening and night tourism, expand the range of tourism services, and create a comfortable environment in line with the principles of “24/7 tourism.”
