Uzbekistan and India sign tourism cooperation programme for 2026–2028

Following high-level talks attended by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, the Tourism Cooperation Programme between Uzbekistan and India for 2026–2028 was signed.
The document is aimed at expanding tourist exchanges between the two countries, further developing cooperation in the tourism sector, and implementing new joint projects.
Following the talks, the leaders of the two countries delivered statements to representatives of the media. They noted plans to hold mutual cultural weeks, film festivals, and other major tourism-related events, as well as to launch new joint tourist routes.
The introduction of a 30-day visa-free regime for citizens of the two countries is expected to become an important factor in increasing tourist flows between Uzbekistan and India, boosting mutual travel, and further expanding cooperation in the tourism sector.
