The festival was officially opened with the participation of Tashkent Region Hokim Z. Mirzayev and Chairman of the Tourism Committee A. Akkulov. In their congratulatory remarks, they noted that the “Uzum Sayli” festival serves as an important platform not only for promoting agricultural products but also for showcasing the region’s tourism potential. It was also emphasized that such events contribute to the broad promotion of national traditions, traditional crafts and local cuisine, providing strong impetus to the development of domestic and inbound tourism.
As part of the festival, farms from all regions of Uzbekistan, domestic winemaking companies, as well as producers of natural beverages, juices and concentrates are presenting their products.
The event program includes agricultural fairs, exhibitions featuring international wine producers, international conferences and forums on viticulture, a national costume exhibition and an auction.
The festival’s cultural program features performances by national folklore groups and pop artists, national competitions in various categories, exhibitions of handicrafts, national cuisine and traditional costumes, as well as displays showcasing local customs and traditions.
The international “Uzum Sayli” festival is attended by representatives of ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan, foreign organizations accredited in the country, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as Leonardo Commucci, Chairman of the Italian Association of Winemakers. Scientists, experts and leading industry specialists from more than 30 countries, including Indonesia, Türkiye, Serbia, Russia, Korea, Singapore, Belarus, Georgia and Azerbaijan, are also taking part in the event.
The choice of Parkent District as the venue for “Uzum Sayli” is not accidental. The district has developed a distinctive tradition of viticulture. Today, more than 530 farms in the district cultivate over 13 grape varieties across an area of more than 15,000 hectares. Parkent grapes are exported to more than 30 countries worldwide.
One of the festival’s key objectives is to showcase the vast tourism potential of Tashkent Region and further develop gastronomic, eno and ecotourism.
In recent years, the number of hotels and recreation facilities in the region has reached 319, while the number of guest houses stands at 1,105, with a total accommodation capacity of 35,000 beds. Large-scale projects are currently being implemented in Parkent aimed at transforming the district into one of the region’s major tourism centers over the next two years. Modern tourism facilities, attractions, a ski resort and facilities for extreme sports are planned, with a capacity to accommodate at least 500,000 tourists.
