Russian delegation explores Uzbekistan’s tourism potential

The tour was designed to provide the delegation with first-hand experience of Uzbekistan’s tourism opportunities, infrastructure and facilities of interest for organizing trips for trade union members and their families.
In Tashkent, the delegation visited key tourism and cultural attractions of the capital, including the Center for Islamic Civilization, and explored the city’s modern tourism infrastructure.
In Samarkand, the Russian representatives visited the city’s major tourist attractions and explored its rich historical and cultural heritage. Particular attention was paid to opportunities for developing cultural, educational and pilgrimage tourism.
In Tashkent Region, the delegation visited tourism and recreational facilities, including sanatoriums and children’s health camps, and assessed their potential for family, children’s and health and wellness tourism.
An important part of the programme was a journey on the high-speed Afrosiyob train along the Tashkent–Samarkand route. The guests experienced first-hand the convenience of Uzbekistan’s modern railway services, which make it possible to combine visits to the country’s two leading tourism destinations within a single itinerary.
The familiarization tour provided the Russian delegation with a practical understanding of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and opportunities for developing new organized travel programmes for trade union members and their families.
The visit continued the agreements reached between the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and is aimed at further increasing mutual tourist exchanges between the two countries.
