The meeting highlighted the significant potential of Russian trade unions, which represent employees of major enterprises and organizations, to help generate organized tourist flows to Uzbekistan.
In this regard, the sides proposed jointly developing family and children’s, health and wellness, medical, cultural and educational, ecotourism, and ski tourism, as well as creating special travel programmes for trade union members and their families.
Particular attention is expected to be paid to pilgrimage tourism, including for residents of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, and other Russian regions. Potential itineraries could include Samarkand, Bukhara, Tashkent, the Center of Islamic Civilization, and the Imam al-Bukhari Complex.
Other promising areas include MICE and industrial tourism, including hosting business events in Uzbekistan and arranging visits to modern enterprises, technology parks, and industrial facilities.
Following the meeting, the sides signed a Cooperation Agreement between the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia in the field of tourism.
The agreement provides for the development of special travel packages, the establishment of direct links between trade unions and tourism organizations, the organization of familiarization trips, and joint promotion of Uzbekistan’s tourism opportunities in Russia.
The cooperation is expected to contribute to further growth in mutual tourist flows and strengthen the cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
