The launch of the new air service will create additional opportunities to increase tourist flows between the two countries and further promote Uzbekistan's tourism potential in Türkiye and the wider Mediterranean region.
The inaugural flight was welcomed at Tashkent International Airport with the traditional water salute. Passengers were greeted with traditional Uzbek refreshments and a festive photo zone. A total of 170 passengers arrived in the capital of Uzbekistan on the first flight.
This is the first-ever direct air connection between Tashkent and Izmir. The route will be operated four times a week — on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays — using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The new route expands Uzbekistan's international air connectivity, improves the country's accessibility for international travellers, and creates new opportunities for tourists wishing to discover Uzbekistan's rich historical and cultural heritage.
