Under the new system, the entire process of granting travel benefits will be fully digitalised. Paper travel vouchers will be abolished, and eligibility for discounted or free travel will be automatically verified through the Unified National Social Protection information system using the traveller’s ID card or biometric passport.
The new measure is also expected to encourage the further development of domestic tourism by making it easier for eligible citizens to visit the country's historical and cultural landmarks, pilgrimage sites, as well as ecological and recreational destinations. In particular, socially supported travellers will have greater access to destinations such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shahrisabz, Termez, the Fergana Valley, as well as Uzbekistan’s mountain resorts and wellness areas.
Beginning in 2027, eligible passengers will also be able to purchase discounted tickets online through the Baraka Social Card mobile application. This digital solution will simplify access to transport services while supporting the reforms initiated by the President to promote domestic tourism and encourage more people to explore Uzbekistan.
The introduction of modern digital solutions in the transport sector will help unlock the country's tourism potential, make travel more accessible to all eligible citizens, and contribute to the successful implementation of the national “Travel Around Uzbekistan!” programme.
