Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan

During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in the field of pilgrimage and religious tourism through the “Umrah Plus” initiative, further developing pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan, jointly exploring new international markets, and implementing collaborative tourism projects.

The Association also delivered a presentation highlighting its activities and achievements during the first part of 2026. The presentation outlined the work completed to date, major events organised, key performance indicators achieved, and plans for future initiatives.

It was noted that, in cooperation with the Tourism Committee, the Association has organised “Umrah Plus” international exhibitions in five countries—Malaysia, Indonesia, Türkiye, Morocco, and Uzbekistan. These events attracted more than 2,000 participants, including representatives of national tourism authorities, tourism businesses, international companies, and members of the public, all of whom were introduced to Uzbekistan’s tourism potential.

Uzbek travel companies also took an active part in the exhibitions, successfully establishing around ten new partnerships with foreign tourism businesses.

Particular attention was given to the international exhibition held on 27–28 June at Humo Arena in Tashkent. The event brought together more than 200 leading representatives of tour operators, the hospitality industry, and major transport and logistics companies from Central Asia, Türkiye, Russia, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia.

At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of the Association proposed continuing close cooperation with the Tourism Committee by jointly organising a new series of international exhibitions in 2027 to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in ten foreign countries. To support this initiative, the parties proposed developing a joint action plan and signing a Memorandum of Cooperation.
