During the meeting, the parties discussed preparations for hosting the STEAM AHEAD Global Finals 2026 international final olympiad and the Young Achievers Leadership Academy programme, both of which are scheduled to take place in Tashkent in December 2026.
The international events will run for two weeks and are expected to bring together more than 3,000 talented school students, leading educators, international experts, jury members, and official delegations from over 40 countries.
December is traditionally considered the low season for international tourism. Hosting large-scale intellectual events of this calibre in Tashkent is therefore expected to increase the number of international visitors during the winter season, stimulate business and MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions), and further strengthen Uzbekistan’s appeal as an international travel destination.
The arrival of thousands of participants and accompanying visitors is expected to generate additional demand for hotels, transport, restaurants, экскурсионные services, and other tourism-related businesses, creating positive economic impacts across multiple sectors of the tourism industry.
In addition, hosting these prestigious international events will provide an excellent opportunity to showcase Uzbekistan’s growing potential in educational, intellectual, and MICE tourism, reinforce Tashkent’s position as a modern international venue for major global events, and further enhance the country’s image on the world stage.
