The tourist aul will feature guest houses designed in the national style, artisan workshops, traditional cooking facilities, ethnographic exhibitions, recreational areas, and children's entertainment zones. Visitors will also be able to enjoy camel and horseback rides, traditional folk games, folklore performances, and hands-on master classes conducted by local craftsmen.
The practical success of this initiative is already evident in the Yangikazgan tourist aul in the Kanimekh District. Thanks to the development of tourism, around 60 local families now earn a stable income. The village currently includes 20 guest houses and 10 artisan houses.
Interactive experiences allow visitors to actively participate in preparing traditional Uzbek dishes, milking cows and camels, baking traditional flatbread (non) in a tandoor oven, and producing carpets and other handicrafts from goat and camel wool. This immersive approach enables tourists to experience the authentic rural lifestyle while providing local residents with an additional source of income.
The Yangikazgan tourist aul is expected to welcome approximately 25,000 international visitors in 2026, reflecting the growing interest of the global tourism market in this destination.
At present, nine yurt camps operate in the desert areas of the Kanimekh and Nurata districts, with a combined capacity to accommodate up to 900 visitors at a time. Each year, these camps receive around 50,000 international tourists. Due to strong demand, all accommodation for the 2026 tourist season has already been fully booked by foreign visitors.
The implementation of this project will further strengthen the region's tourism appeal, create new jobs, increase employment opportunities, and promote the development of rural tourism. Of particular importance is the initiative's role in preserving and promoting traditional crafts, customs, and cultural values, while introducing Uzbekistan's rich heritage to the international community.
The project being implemented in the Navoi Region represents another tangible outcome of Uzbekistan's ongoing reforms aimed at developing both domestic and inbound tourism. In the years ahead, the tourist village has every opportunity to become one of the country's most attractive tourism destinations.
