During the meeting, the participants discussed ways to increase mutual tourist flows, develop joint tourism routes, and strengthen direct cooperation between tour operators, hospitality businesses, and transport companies from the two countries.
The parties emphasized that combining Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage and its ancient cities with Kyrgyzstan’s spectacular mountain landscapes, pristine natural environment, and ecotourism opportunities would enable the creation of an attractive and competitive tourism product for international travelers.
As part of the cooperation with the KATO, the participants also discussed organizing reciprocal familiarization tours for tourism industry representatives, promoting joint Uzbekistan–Kyrgyzstan travel itineraries in international markets, and enhancing their visibility through digital platforms and mass media.
In addition, the parties explored opportunities to jointly showcase the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan at major international tourism exhibitions and trade fairs under the unified regional brand “Central Asia.” This initiative includes the organization of joint national pavilions, destination presentations, and coordinated marketing campaigns, allowing the region’s rich historical heritage, cultural diversity, and natural attractions to be presented to international audiences as a single, integrated travel destination.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to work together to attract visitors from third-country markets, actively promote the planned direct flights Bishkek–Samarkand and Bishkek–Urgench, and further strengthen practical cooperation between tourism industry stakeholders from both countries through a systematic and long-term partnership.
The implementation of these initiatives is expected to expand tourism exchange between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, foster the development of joint tourism routes, broaden travel opportunities across the region, and further strengthen Central Asia’s position as an attractive and competitive tourism destination on the global market.
