As part of the implementation of this initiative, the “Bukhara Desert Oasis & Spa” tourism complex, located in Romitan District, has officially been granted the status of a Tourism Cluster. The corresponding certificate was ceremonially presented by S. Bobokalonov, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In recent years, Uzbekistan’s tourism sector has become one of the country’s most dynamically developing industries. The growing number of domestic and international visitors, the expansion of tourism facilities, and the increasing range of tourism services clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of ongoing reforms. The Bukhara Region, renowned for its rich historical and cultural heritage, unique architectural monuments, and modern tourism infrastructure, continues to attract increasing numbers of travelers.
It should also be noted that Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited the Bukhara Region and held an open dialogue with local entrepreneurs and representatives of the tourism industry. During the meeting, participants discussed the implementation of new investment projects, service quality improvement, the development of eco-tourism and desert tourism, and the creation of new tourism routes. As a result, practical work has already begun on a number of projects involving the construction of new tourism facilities, recreational areas, and service infrastructure throughout the region.
The designation of “Bukhara Desert Oasis & Spa” as a tourism cluster is a logical continuation of these efforts and is intended to further enhance the region’s tourism appeal, increase visitor numbers, create new jobs, and improve service quality.
The new cluster combines modern hospitality and recreational services with elements of national culture, gastronomy, and eco-tourism experiences that harmoniously complement the unique desert landscape. This will enable the development of new and attractive tourism products and experiences for both domestic and international visitors.
In addition, the project is expected to play an important role in increasing the tourism attractiveness of Romitan District, promoting eco-tourism and adventure tourism in the Bukhara Region, expanding investment activity, and creating employment opportunities for local residents. According to experts, the growth in the number of such tourism clusters will contribute not only to regional economic development but also to strengthening Uzbekistan’s competitiveness in the international tourism market.
The operation of the “Bukhara Desert Oasis & Spa” tourism cluster is expected to become an important step toward transforming Romitan District into one of the most promising tourism destinations not only in the Bukhara Region but throughout Uzbekistan.
