The forum brought together representatives of the tourism industry, investors, hotel operators, and relevant organizations from both countries to discuss prospects for expanding tourism exchanges and implementing joint projects. The event was attended by representatives of three major international hotel groups, among the world’s leading hospitality operators.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sanjar Tadjiev, highlighted that the introduction of a visa-free regime between Uzbekistan and China has significantly contributed to the growth of tourist flows. In 2025, more than 278,000 Chinese citizens visited Uzbekistan, while over 178,000 arrivals were recorded in the first five months of 2026.
Participants were presented with the tourism and investment potential of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as the Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, and Namangan regions. Presentations were also delivered by representatives of the China National Cultural Center in Uzbekistan and the Argyle Hotels Group.
Ahead of the forum, representatives of Chinese hotel companies visited hospitality infrastructure facilities in Tashkent and the Tashkent region to explore opportunities for the development of international hotel brands in Uzbekistan.
During B2B meetings, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in hospitality, pilgrimage, eco, gastronomic, and wellness tourism, as well as the implementation of joint investment projects. Chinese hotel groups expressed a strong interest in expanding their presence in the region and a willingness to consider establishing regional offices in Tashkent.
