BISU is a leading educational institution in the People’s Republic of China in the fields of foreign languages, culture, and tourism. Its Academy of Culture and Tourism functions as one of the key think tanks of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, playing an important role in developing strategic decisions for the industry.
During the negotiations, Abdulaziz Akkulov highly appreciated the capabilities of the “Smart Tourism Data System” developed by BISU, which monitors the Chinese tourism market in real time and is based on artificial intelligence and Big Data technologies. The Chinese side provided detailed information about the system’s data ingestion processes, analytics, and forecasting based on machine learning models.
The main topic of the meeting was a proposal to jointly develop a similar high-tech IT project for Uzbekistan’s tourism sector. The parties thoroughly discussed the technical, legal, and organizational aspects of implementing such a digital platform in the country.
In particular, specialists from the Tourism Committee studied the system’s mechanisms, including real-time integration of data from online booking platforms, mobile GPS, transport systems, and hotels. Special attention was given to the legal framework of cooperation with the private sector, personal data protection, and compliance with international regulatory standards.
It was noted that the artificial intelligence algorithms within the project will allow analysis not only of domestic tourist flows but also of international visitor dynamics. This, in turn, will enable more accurate forecasting of tourist flows and visitor satisfaction levels, as well as improve the safety of tourism sites.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue working on defining technical requirements and exchanging experience for the implementation of a joint digital project.
